Environmental science is a broad area of science. It mainly discusses the effects of environmental conditions on the different biological systems. The relationship of the microorganisms and their interaction with the environment is also the main focus of environmental sciences. There are different field which are included in environmental sciences like environmental chemistry, ecology, geology and environmental biology.
Some other areas like natural resource use and conservation, energy production, water science, climate change and pollution are also can be included in the environmental sciences.

Education:-
Scientists of all the fields are required to have at least college degree that is BS or MS in the field in which they want to pursue their career. Scientists at the advanced level or who are related with the research work, they are required to have degree of masters or PhD. People who are interested in studying environmental sciences they should study courses of ecology, chemistry, geology, earth sciences, biology and physics. For the analysis and measurements of the environmental data, it is necessary that the person must have knowledge of mathematics and statistics. Students must study law if they have to deal with government and different organizations.

Jobs:-

Environmental Scientists:-
The job of the environmental scientists is usually in the governments and in different companies. They also work in the companies which are related with the energy production or natural resources. They use their knowledge of education to protect the environment and earth from different pollutants and contaminants. They are also connected with the research work to find different remedies to protect the environment from harmful components. Environmental scientists can also combine their knowledge with chemical engineering and they can research about those harmful chemicals which are hurting the environment.

Freshwater Scientists:-

The main concern of freshwater scientists is the ecosystem. There job is to conserve the fresh water in the ecosystem and keep it clean from harmful microorganisms and other substances such as chemicals and contaminants.

Wetlands Scientist:-
Restoration and conservation of wetland come under this job. The scientists of wetlands study the functions of wetlands and take precautionary measures to protect them. Prevention of food, wildlife, checking the quality of water and protection of the shorelines are also the concerns of wetland scientists. They also help people to get educated about the negative effects of recreational activities on the wetlands.

Forest Scientists:-
The main concern of forest scientists is to protect the forests by producing such products which can be beneficent for the trees. They also are responsible for providing fresh water to the forests and make sure that the biodiversity and recreational activities remain unchanged. They make sure that the wild life should be protected from the hunters and also protect forest from the illegal transportation of woods.

Natural Resource Scientist:-
Job of natural resource scientists is to develop the resource management and restoration plans by working with the federal and state agencies. Overall protection of environment is the main purpose of this job.

Restoration Ecologist:-
This job of restoration ecologist is similar to the wetlands scientists because their main concern is also to restore the aquatic habitats. They work with the governments and help them to build and permit the use of natural bodies of water and the wilderness for different purposes. They are also responsible for monitoring the plants and flower species.

Salary:-
The salary of environmental scientists depends on the experience and on which post they are posted. If they are researchers or Directors of some companies then they earn 40,000 to 70,000$. The job of environmental is very attractive because they can see that how the environment is flourishing as a result of their hard work and it is usually a life long work.
