  • Aspartylglucosaminidase - Pharmacological Significance

Aspartylglucosaminidase is an amidohydrolase enzyme involved in the catabolism of N-linked oligosaccharides of glycoproteins. It cleaves asparagine from N-acetylglucosamines as one of the final steps in the lysosomal breakdown of glycoproteins. The lysosomal storage disease aspartylglycosaminuria is caused by a deficiency in the AGA enzyme. - Category: Pharmacy
  • Xanthan Gum - Bioindustrial Viewpoint and Applications

XANTHAN GUM, is one of the most widely used industrial polysaccharides, since it exhibits three desirable properties: high viscosity at low concentration, pseudoplasticity and insensitivity to a wide range of temperature, pH and electrolyte variations. Because of these special rheological properties, it is used in food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, paper, paint, textiles, adhesives and oil industry. - Category: Biotechnology products
